The year 2024–2025 marked an important milestone for Chhotanagpur Vikas Manch as an implementing partner of the Samekit Birsa Gram Vikas Yojana sah Krishak Pathsala Yojana in Barsot village, Barhi block, Hazaribag district. The program was implemented with the vision of achieving integrated rural development, agricultural sustainability, and livelihood enhancement for marginalized farming communities.
Through focused interventions in agriculture, livestock, water resource management, and farmer education, the initiative has made significant progress in addressing rural poverty, improving food security, and strengthening farmer institutions.
Programme Objectives
The primary objectives of the Yojana were:
- To empower farmers with knowledge and skills through Krishak Pathsala (Farmers’ School).
- To improve soil fertility and crop productivity through organic and sustainable practices.
- To diversify livelihoods by integrating animal husbandry, poultry, and horticulture.
- To develop community-owned assets for irrigation, seed security, and market linkages.
- To promote women’s participation and entrepreneurship in agriculture and allied activities.
Coverage Area & Beneficiaries
- Location: Barsot village, Barhi block, Hazaribag district, Jharkhand.
- Population Reached: 10000-12000 villagers (direct + indirect beneficiaries).
- Farmers Training: 750 farmers
- Target Groups: Small and marginal farmers, landless laborers, women farmers, youth groups, and livestock owners.
