Installation of 2000 Kg Bio-Gas Plant in Gurhet Village, Hazaribag

Objectives

• Promote renewable energy through cattle dung & organic waste management.
• Provide clean cooking fuel to households.
• Reduce open defecation-related waste & improve sanitation.
• Produce enriched organic manure for farmers.

Achievements (2024–25)

• Installed and operationalized a 2000 Kg/day capacity Bio-Gas Plant.
• Daily biogas production: 120–150 m³, benefitting around 150 households.
• Monthly manure production: 2–2.5 tons, distributed to farmers.
• Saved approx. 400 kg firewood per day, reducing deforestation.
• Reduced 150–200 tons CO₂ equivalent annually.
• Created income opportunities for women SHGs engaged in dung collection and plant management.
